Residential, kitchen | East Oxford

This house contained the original kitchen from the 1980s. Facing onto the garden, it is an incredibly bright room and the client wanted to retain that light, but to make the kitchen fresh with a modern feel. We chose to use two different colours on the wall and base units, to make the small space interesting and unexpected. The pale green and pink can withstand the intensity of the sun throughout the day, and the darker hand-made geometric tiles bring the space up-to-date.

To incorporate some character, we created space for a vintage dining table and chairs on the opposite side of the room. The result is an inviting and striking kitchen that has become the hub of the home.
